When most cooks think of using a roaster oven, they usually think about cooking a turkey or some other large meal. Nevertheless with the right roaster stove recipes, a good selection of foods can be prepared in them and not always in a quantity to fit the dimensions of the inner pan. Roaster ovens, sometimes heated by electrical, can supplement the kitchen as a cooker or as a steamer and utilized for a selection of cooking purposes.

For instance, chicken and pasta can be cooked and then placed in the roaster stove at low heat to keep them warm. Many roaster ovens are equipped with an inner lining in which the food is placed and the bottom can hold a small quantity of water to keep the food moist. Many roaster oven recipes however, do not call for water in the outer lining.
Simple roaster range recipes can include baking potatoes without having to wrap them in foil and placed in the oven. Simply wash the potatoes and pierce them several times with a small knife or a fork. Put them in the inner lining so they don’t touch the sides and heat at 400-degrees for roughly an hour. Test them with a fork before removing them, but they can bake just as they might in the regular range, using much less electricity.
Lots of the roaster cooker recipes permit meals to be made for enormous groups of folk like at family reunions or enormous parties. To make smaller quantities you would simply cut back the amount of each ingredient and cut the cooking in an appropriate way. Using eight cups of uncooked rice, add two tablespoons of minced onion, dried, along with eight cups each of chicken broth and boiling water and a half cup of butter. Pre-heat the oven, the insert pan out of the unit and when it reaches 350-degrees, replace the insert and bake for about 90-minutes with the lid on. The rice will cook up plump and juicy with the flavor of the chicken broth.
